Leased
Line Service
Leased
Line services are a dedicated premium internet connectivity product delivered
over fibre normally; they also deliver a symmetric solution. They can be used
as a stand-alone circuit or for connecting two or more locations; this is
sometimes known as a “private circuit” or “data line”. Unlike PSTN lines they
do not have a telephone number, each side of the line being permanently
connected to the other.
Leased
lines are typically used by business to connect geographically distant offices.
They are always active unlike dial-up connections and operate on a 1:1
contention ratio so the carrier can ensure a given level of quality.
Wireless
Leased Lines
In
certain geographical areas we are also able to offer a connectivity solution
with the best SLA and support in the industry. By coupling fibre optic and high
capacity wireless technology, lead-times are reduced significantly from the
normal six months plus to a matter of weeks. Subject to a site survey some
connections can be installed in as little as 10 days.
Using the latest technology in small
pole mounted radio antennas (240mm x 240mm x 50mm) both operating range and link
reliability have increased significantly over traditional point-to-point
systems.
This
type of connection is also extremely flexible. The Standard equipment that is
installed to carry the initial speed is always capable of carrying at least
twice this amount. This makes upgrading to a faster speed a relatively simple
operation that can be carried out with a software change usually within 48
hours and with no downtime.
Businesses
that have traditionally struggled with poor copper services such as ADSL, SDSL
& EFM or expensive leased line installation charges finally have a viable
alternative. Currently only available in the Northwest, the Midlands and West
Yorkshire, they provide a variety of solutions from straight forward leased
line services to complex multi-site MPLS options.
Internet
speeds with capacities from 1Mbps up to 2Gbps are available and a standard 1:1
contention ratio. Couple this with a 99.95% SLA, guaranteed 4-hour fix time and
a low fixed price installation cost it really is the option to consider,
especially if operating from multiple sites.
